About me
I was born in Montreal but was raised in Africa, the Northwest Territories and Ottawa. I had parents with an adventuresome spirit which took hold in me too!
I have a particularly strong connection to Africa and have returned many times to visit a family that I support there and to explore and experience an incredible part of our world.
I did my undergraduate and education degree at Queen's University in Kingston where I was heavily involved in student activism—particularly in the anti-apartheid movement.
My first teaching job was at a school in the beautiful Dene community of Behchoko in the Northwest Territories, followed by a year in the BC coastal community of Klemtu. It wasn't long before I knew I wanted more skills to support my students, so I enrolled in the Masters of Education in Counselling program at UVic and I've been living in Victoria ever since.
As a clinical counsellor I think it is important to have lived and experienced widely, to understand that humans are amazing, diverse and have incredible potential......even when life feels tough. I know the vast potential that life holds and would hope to support you as you unlock your own possibilities!
